Week 1: The Challenge of Organizational Communication

Organizations today are facing a lot of challenges such as terrorism, natural disaster, and globalizations. This chapter tells me that communication can tackle these challenges in organizations.
In my opinion, globalization has become one of the significant challenges in organization. Miller (2012) stated that we now live in a global economy participate in a global marketplace. Which means that the trade, technologies, finance, investment and labour are integrated around the world. Therefore, communication is indeed important in globalization to help with cultural understanding amongst employees and international business partners.
Organization communication can contribute a great deal to globalizations. The challenges of globalization not only economic but they can concern messages, relationships, and systems of understanding.

However, thanks to the advancement of transportation and telecommunication system improved, the world are become connected to each other, therefore, organizational members can still communicate effectively through internet such as email, video call, and social networking sites. Communication is not just about sending simple messages, but to intricate networks through which computers link us to the people across another nations.
